Sabbatical Day 2: Painting Ceramic
Picasso.
Huge painter, crazy man. Dad or dead? Maybe Dad dead.
I have been in a nice place in Las Olas Blvd (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) to spend an afternoon: Joe Picasso's
Joe Picasso's defined by themselves:
Joe Picasso's is an Interactive Studio and Café where you can choose to paint your own pottery, make a mosaic, or if you are feeling adventurous you can jump on the pottery wheel and throw a pot!
I was there and painted a ceramic plate.
A friend influenced me to start painting. But too much faena didin't allow me start, until today.
My first masterpiece ;-) was a ceramic plate.
For me, painting looked like an teamwork project. The main difference is I did not know how to lead or to speak and feel the team members yet.
Ink is flexible, open minded but is difficult to predict her reaction.
The paint brush, has attitude but does not talk a lot. Is difficult to know what is passing by his head.
The piece listen to you, but lead her is like lead a wild horse.
Building up a piece is like raising a child. Can be seen as you interacting with a friend, an employee, a team member and both getting more mature after that.
A piece has at least two lives. Blockbuster when is growing up. The second, virotic, continuous, still intensive, but with different modus operandi.
Paint is a attitude against the established world. Is a old way to create new paths. Paths that brings life and death to paradigms. This tool can be used to engineer or philosophize a new world. A world that you want. A world that you desire.
A piece is always a masterpiece. Ask her if is she special?! She can answer no, but deep inside, freeing the ego of the afraid of use his potential and fail, the answer will be a loudly: YES, OF COURSE I AM A MASTERPIECE, AREN'T YOU TOO?
